Plot

The musical is a reflection of Tina Turner’s life, of the hard road to success that her life has been. “It is possible to turn poison into medicine”, the singer said about the musical.

Set in the small town of Nutbush, Tennessee, Tina Turner, who was formally Anna Mae Bullock, grew from humble beginnings during the 1930s. Her first steps in the music industry were by no means easy; her path was full of obstacles and conflicts and we learn all about them in the show.

Her worldwide success, her struggle, the physical and psychological abuse she suffered from her husband Ike Turner, her personal growth... These are some of the realities we will discover in the show, always seasoned by the American singer’s most iconic songs. The Aldwych Theatre is a spacious venue, with three floors and a wide range of tickets from which to choose. Prices range from 10 pounds in the cheapest seats to 129 pounds for Level 1 Premium seats.

  • Stalls: The closest area to the stage. Prices from 129.50 pounds to 59.50 pounds on average.
  • Dress Circle: The same price range as the Stalls.
  • Grand Circle: The cheapest seats are in this area. They range from 59.50 pounds to 35 and 19.50 pounds in the last rows.

Do you want to see the musical in the next few weeks? 

We have a few tricks up our sleeves! Monday to Wednesday performances, for example, are usually less in demand. It is very likely that there some seats will be available in the weeks to come.

Matinee tickets are usually the first to sell out, as are weekend tickets (Fridays and Saturdays). If you want to attend these performances, plan your visit in advance. VIP tickets are very limited.

Aldwych Theatre

The theatre is in the very heart of London, between Covent Garden and Temple stations. Therefore, it is really easy to get to the theatre on public transport, so you don’t need to worry about parking. 

How can I get to the Aldwych Theatre?

  • Tube: the closest Tube stations are Covent Garden (Piccadilly Line) , Holborn (Central and Piccadilly Lines) and Charing Cross (Northern and Bakerloo Lines).
  • Bus: You can also reach the theatre by bus, taking lines 1, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 26, 59, 68, 76, 87, 91, 168, 171, 172, 188, 243 and 341. .
  • Train: The closest station is Charing Cross, just half a mile away from the theatre.
  • Car: If despite these options you still prefer to go to the theatre by car, you can save up to 50% with the Q-Park’s Theatreland Parking Scheme.

  • Sensitivity: The show uses strobe lighting, loud music and haze, which may be harmful for people who suffer from epilepsy. There will also be gun shots and scenes that may disturb some audiences.
  • Recommended Age: The show has strong language and some scenes may affect younger children. That is why the recommended minimum age for this show is 14. Children under 5 will not be admitted into the venue.
  • Duration: The show lasts for 2 hours and 45 minutes, not including the interval. Please bear this in mind when buying your tickets
  • Opening times: the theatre, bars and bathrooms open 45 minutes before the start of the show. The auditorium opens 30 minutes before the start of the show.

Will the musical go on tour? 

For the time being, it will continue to be performed in London, but it has already been announced that there will be another two productions in Hamburg and Broadway.

Cheap Tickets & Offers

What are the cheapest tickets? 

Cheapest tickets start at 10 pounds, but they sell out very quickly and are hard to come by. It is much easier to find tickets at 19.50 pounds, however: they are located in the last row of the Grand Circle, and they usually have good availability.

You will be able to find level 4 tickets, with a still reasonably cheap price of 35 pounds, in the adjoining rows. Plan your visit with enough time in advance and you will be able to get the best prices.

Throughout 2019, there will be performances from Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm. There are also matinee performances on Thursdays and Saturdays at 2:30pm.
