After successfully opening at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds in 2017, Sally Cookson’s critically acclaimed adaptation of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe brings the snowy, magical world of Narnia to the West End this Christmas. Based on the timeless, much-loved children’s novel by C.S. Lewis, the production follows the exciting adventure of four siblings who step through an old wardrobe into the frosty, fantastical land of Narnia.

Plot

During war time Britain, siblings Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan Pensive are evacuated to a remote country house. While exploring the house on a rainy day, youngest sister Lucy discovers a dusty old wardrobe with an ensemble of furry coats. After rummaging through them, she steps into the snowy, mythical land of Narnia.

Although her older siblings do not believe her at first, each child eventually discovers the extraordinary secret of Narnia. Meeting mythical beasts, evil white witches and god-like lions, the brothers and sisters escape the conflict at home and embark on an exciting adventure in this frosty, parallel world!

Located near Tower Bridge and London Bridge station, The Bridge Theatre is easily accessible by public transport. We recommend you look up the exact address using Google maps, which is:

Getting there

There are several ways to easily access The Bridge Theatre and we reccommend you plan your journey carefully. 

Tube: The closest tube and train station is London Bridge which is a 10 minute walk. Take the exit for Tooley Bridge and follow the road towards Tower Bridge. You can also take the tube to Tower Hill, a 15 minute walk over the river via Tower Bridge.  

Bus: You can take the bus via Bus routes 47, 343 and 381 stop on Tooley Street, get off at stop ‘City Hall’ and bus routes 42, 78 and 188 stop on Druid Street. Both of the bus stops are a 5 minute walk away from the theatre.  Bicycle: there are several bike racks on Tooley street and two Santander docking stations.

Coach: there is a free coach bay on English Grounds off Tooley Street. The Maximum stay is 20 minutes.  

Car or Taxi: The Bridge Theatre is located just in the London congestion charge zone which applies from 7am until 6pm and costs £11.50 per day. If you are driving to the theatre after 6pm then you will not be charged.

The nearest drop off car park is Potters fields where there is level access to the theatre entrance.

The Bridge Theatre is part of the Q-Park scheme, meaning that audiences can enjoy 20% off parking when they use the code BRIDGE. You need to pre-book 24 hours before. The nearest Q park is a five minute walk from the theatre and is just outside of the London congestion zone.

You can purchase disabled concessionary rate tickets from The Bridge Theatre. You need to sign up to the Access list in order to book these tickets which you can do online, by telephone or in person.

Getting to The Bridge theatre

The nearest station is London Bridge tube and train station which is an accessible station. If you require more information on accessibility on the underground visit the transport for London website. 

Physical Access

The nearest drop off car park is Potters fields where there is level access to the theatre entrance and foyer.  

The wheelchair spaces are in Gallery 2 with level access from the foyer. 

You can access Gallery 1 and the Stalls using a platform lift. (Gallery 3 does not have lift access.)   The main staircase from foyer to Gallery 1 and Stalls has 21 steps. There are 12 steps up to Gallery 3 from foyer level. 

Wheelchair Loan

It is possible to borrow a wheelchair from The Bridge Theatre when you visit. Email boxoffice@bridgetheatre.co.uk or call 0333 320 0051 before your visit to arrange this.  

Access toilets

There are three unisex accessible toilets, one is located at the same level as both the Stalls, and on the Gallery 2.

Access Facilities

If you are in need a hearing aid, they can be collected from the cloakroom before the show
