Created by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The Mamma Mia! musical has triumphed in the West End of London since 1999. Based on original ABBA songs, this exciting musical takes you to a heavenly Greek island, where friendship, love and family are portrayed through the internationally renowned songs by the legendary Swedish group. More than eight million people have already seen this production in London alone, and with 60 million people having seen it worldwide, it has beaten all box-office records. The secret of its success? A moving story, a clever script packed with humour, and an atmosphere soaked in colour, light and, above all, joy.

Through major hits like “Thank You for the Music”, “Money, Money, Money”, “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper”, “Lay All Your Love on Me”, “Voulez Vous”, “SOS”, “The Winner Takes It All”, “Take a Chance on Me”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You”, and the title song “Mamma Mia”, the audience is brought into the entertaining story of a daughter about to get married, and her mother, who is about to reunite with three of her past flames. Composed by two of the founding members of ABBA, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Catherine Johnson, Mamma Mia! has become a global phenomenon that will get you moving as if you were an authentic dancing queen.

Running time: 2 hours and 35 minutes (with interval)

Recommended age: suitable for all audiences. Children under five years old are not allowed.

Sophie is a 20-something about to get married on an idyllic Greek island, where she lives and runs a hotel with Donna, her mother. For her whole life, mother and daughter have had only each other, but all these changes when Sophie, just before the most important day of her life, decides that her father is the one who should walk her down the aisle. But her mother has never told her who he might be.

Entirely convinced that she’s going to find him, Sophie reads her mother’s diaries and discovers how to contact three men who could be her father. Without a second thought, she decides to invite them to her wedding without telling Donna, who, after 20 years of being entirely dedicated to her business and daughter, starts experiencing old feelings from the past that she thought were long gone.

Mamma Mia! Tickets 2019

Performances are programmed from Monday to Saturday at 7:45pm, with matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 3pm.

Performances have been programmed until 14 September 2019, though they’re continually renewed, and for the time being, no end-of-season is planned.

The theatre has 1,084 seats, with 479 in the stalls, 249 in the dress circle, 214 in the grand circle and 142 on the balcony. Prices oscillate between £19 and £180, depending on the day, seat and view of the stage.

Best Seats: we recommend choosing the stalls, specifically the central zone, or the front rows of the dress circle.

Best Quality-Price relationship: the seats at the side of the dress circle are reasonably priced and have a view of the entire stage.

Affordable prices: if you want to spend less, the seats in the dress circle and the grand circle will give you a good view of the action on the stage at a reasonable price. If you want to get Mamma Mia! tickets at the best possible price, you could always go for the balcony, which offers the lowest prices, but with a limited view.

Have a look at the seating plan in our images section.
