Fame The Musical Tour comes to London’s West End to celebrate its 30th Anniversary, with Keith Jack as Nick Piazza, Jorgie Porter as Iris Kelly and Mica Paris as Miss Sherman. Conceived and developed by David de Silva, with music by Steve Margoshes, book by Jose Fernandez, and lyrics by Jacques Levy, the Fame Tour 2018-19 will take over the Peacock Theatre from 11 September to 19 October, 2019.

Since opening on Broadway in 1988, this production has visited the West End on 7 different occasions, making it one of the most acclaimed musicals in Theatreland. As have been the productions that have toured the world during these past 30 years: Miami, Stockholm, Poland, China, Australia, Thailand… Fame - The Musical will live forever.

Running time: 2 hours and 20 minutes

Recommended age: 12 and above. Children under the age of 5 will not be admitted.

Plot

This musical has won 3 Olivier Awards for Best New Musical, Choreography and Leading Actor in a Musical. It is based on the massive 1980 hit film of the same name. Fame tells the story of the students of New York’s High School for the Performing Arts. Talented young people who in an incredibly competitive atmosphere will have to overcome tough tests to attain their goals and achieve fame. Because not only will this group of dancers, singers, actors and artists have to work hard to fulfil their dreams, they will also have to deal with whirlwind romances and moments of heartbreak.

Fame London Tickets

The Fame The Musical UK Tour will be at the Peacock Theatre in London from 11 September to 19 October, 2019. These dates will not be extended, due to the production having already been booked to play in Buxton in November.

There will only be 45 performances in London, from Wednesday to Saturday at 7:30pm and on Sundays at 7pm. Matinee performances will be at 2:30pm on Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays.

Stalls: With a capacity for 770 people, the Stalls offer an immersive experience of the musical. Any of its seats will give you a perfect view of the stage, so if you want to save some money, you can book seats from row U and back - they are cheaper and there are no architectural elements to restrict your view.

Dress Circle: The highest area of the theatre, with a capacity for 283 people. The best value for money seats is in this area, and the first rows offer a great view of the stage. If you’re on a tight budget, seats in areas AL, AR, BL and BR have great discounts.

How much do Fame The Musical tickets cost?

Prices for Fame The Musical range from £20.70 (in rows Y to ZB of the Stalls and restricted view seats in the Dress Circle) to £63.25, and they don’t change depending on the date or time of the performance. The best value tickets are the ones in rows L-V in the Stalls and rows F-G in the Circle. These tickets cost £45.43 and they will afford you a perfect view of the stage. The cheapest tickets are the ones in the last rows of the Stalls and the Dress Circle, they cost £20.70. These seats don’t have a restricted view, so they are a great option for enjoying the musical at a very reduced price.

Fame at the Peacock Theatre in London

With a capacity for 999 people distributed over two floors, 707 seats in the Stalls and 283 in the Dress Circle, the Peacock Theatre is known as a must-visit venue for any and every major musical that tours the UK. This s century-old theatre in Portugal Street was inaugurated on 13 November, 1911, and it is currently famous for hosting the Birmingham Repertory Theatre’s Christmas production of The Snowman, every year.

The Peacock Theatre is also surrounded by a large number of bus stops such as High Holborn which is served by routes 8, 19, 38, 22B, 25, 188, 501, 521; Kingsway, served by 1, 68, 91, 168, 171, 188, 501, 505, 521, X68, or Aldwych/Strand: 4, 11, 15, 23, 26, 76, 171, 341. If you intend driving to the theatre, the closest car park is NCP Covent Garden.

Useful Information

Accessibility: The theatre is fully accessible by wheelchair. The access to the hall has 5 steps with a handrail, and there is a wheelchair elevator if needed. There are 7 spaces in the Circle for wheelchair users, accessible using a lift, and 2 more in the Stalls. If you need to use these spaces, you will have to ask for them at the box office, and a member of staff will guide you to them.

Recommended age: Children under the age of 5 will not be admitted. Bear in mind that due to inappropriate language and references to sex and drugs, this show is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
