The show Everybody's talking about Jamie is much more than a musical. It is based on a documentary that told the story of a 16 year old boy. It was first adapted for a small local theatre, but its success soon brought it to London's West End. Created by Dan Gillespie Sells and Tom Macrae, and directed by Jonathan Butterell, it has already won WhatsOnStage Awards for Best New Musical, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Plot
“Jamie: Drag Queen at 16”, was first aired by the BBC in 2011. This documentary told the story of a boy from Sheffield didn’t quite fit in and who didn’t quite know how to face his future.
But not only was Jamie Campbell lucky enough to find someone to tell his story, no. He also inadvertently inspired a theatre producer. And his life was turned into a musical. The show first opened at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, but it soon drew the attention of the West End.
Jamie is sure about one thing: when he grows up, he wants to be a Drag Queen. By no means something you can tell people about when you’re just 11 years old. With the support of his friends and his amazing mother, young Jamie, as the years go by, manages to face up to his critics and everything that stands between him and his dream. It is the story of a struggle against bullying and society, of belief in oneself, the story of how a boy from Sheffield manages to shine just the way he wants to shine.

How much is the cheapest ticket?
The cheapest tickets start at £20. They are in the Grand Circle, especially at the sides. You can also buy tickets for side and back seats on all levels for £37.
When are tickets at their cheapest?
Tickets are cheaper from Monday to Thursday. Although lower prices are always the same (£27, £50 and £20), good visibility tickets may cost up to £10 less on a weekday. Avoid Fridays and Saturdays if you want to find the best prices.

You can get to the theatre in many ways: The theatre is very centrally located, close to Piccadilly Circus Tube station and right beside Leicester Square. Public transport is highly recommended.
- Tube: Piccadilly Circus is the closest station (Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines).
- Bus: routes 1, 14, 19, 22, 24, 29, 38, 55 and 176
- Car: if you choose to go by car, the closest car parks are the Q-Parks in Chinatown and Newport Place. Remember that if you go to a musical, you can enjoy a 50% discount at Q-Park.
