Waitress is the new musical that’s waiting for you in London’s West End. Created by an all-female team and starring Katharine McPhee, it tells the story of a young pastrycook trapped in a life that doesn’t entirely satisfy her. Will she be able to cope with change? Will she be brave enough to choose happiness?

The music is by Sara Bareilles, (who has been nominated for an Oscar on 6 occasions) and the musical is directed Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus. It premières in February 2019 at the Adelphi Theatre in the West End. Don’t miss it!

Plot

Jenna (Katharine McPhee), is an expert pastrycook and waitress who pours all her passion into each one of her creations. However, it’s not as happy a life as she had dreamed, trapped as she is in her small town and an unsatisfactory marriage. Jenna aspires to so much more. 

But it won’t take long before a life-changing opportunity knocks at her door in the form of a pastry contest in a nearby county. Jenna won’t hesitate to answer the call, to live new experiences and meet new people. Will she be able to cope with all these new developments and will she be able to take control of the change?

Stalls: This is the most accessible level and it offers the best views of the stage. Prices range from £140 to £70 for the most affordable seats. Prices may vary depending on the performance, and can range between £120 and £47. 

Dress Circle: An intermediate level offering fantastic views and comfort, especially in the first few rows. The best seats cost £120, but you can find good seats for up to £47. 

Upper Circle: This is where the highest seats in the house are to be found, at the most economical prices. You can find seats in the front rows from £47, and if you look hard you can find seats for only £18. Some of the seats offer a limited view of the stage.

Cheap Tickets & Offers

How much do the cheapest tickets cost? You can see the musical for as little as £18. It is an affordable musical for every pocket. You can find this price in the last rows of the upper circle. 

When can I buy the cheapest tickets? Low-price tickets, £18, are only available for specific performances (if not, the cheapest ticket will set you back £35). These can be found more easily in the Monday to Thursday shows, weekend seats cost a little more. Some of these seats have partial or reduced visibility so hurry up if you want to get the cheapest tickets with good visibility. 

Are there any last minute deals? Normally, the lowest prices are for performances in the next few days. We recommend that you check the prices regularly in case you find an unexpected last minute deal.

Waitress London 2019

Previews start on 8 February 2019.

Show times. There are shows every day from Monday to Saturday at 7:30 pm, plus two matinees every Wednesday and Saturday at 2:30 pm. There are no performances on Sundays. It is recommended that you arrive at the theatre half an hour early. 

At the moment we only know who some of the members of the cast will be, but we do know it features top-rate artists. The show stars Katharine McPhee, who brings Jenna to life, but it also has Marisha Wallace in the role of Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter and Peter Hannah in the role of Earl.

How can I get to the Adelphi Theatre? The address of the Adelphi Theatre is as follows: The Strand, London, WC2R ONS. 

By Tube: The theatre is perfectly connected to the city’s underground network. There are several nearby bus stops: Covent Garden (Piccadilly line), Charing Cross (Northern and Bakerloo lines) and Embankment (District and Circle lines).

By Rail: Charing Cross is also very close by: just 0.2 miles away. 

By Bus: The theatre is served by the following bus routes: 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 77A and 176. 

By car: The closest car parks are in Chinatown and Trafalgar Square. Remember that as a theatregoer you can obtain a 50% discount in any Q-Park car park. Box office: the Adelphi Theatre Box office is open from 10am to 7:45pm, Monday to Saturday.

Useful Information

Accessibility: There are no steps between the lobby and the stalls of the theatre. There is a step between the street and the lobby, but a ramp is available if required. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the theatre staff. The cloakroom in the stalls area has room for up to four wheelchairs and scooters. There are 41 steps between the lobby and the Dress Circle, and 79 to the Upper Circle (this area is not recommended for persons with reduced mobility).

Accessible seats: Stalls X23 and X25 Although not intended for wheelchairs, some seats do have extra legroom: these are seats A7-9, A28-30, BB10, 11, 25-26 and C31 in the stalls. 

Guide dogs are welcome in the theatre. Nevertheless, if you prefer not to bring them into the theatre, the theatre staff can look after them in the Manager's office. Adapted bathrooms: at the entrance to the stalls.
